Throughout History, the central role of women in society has ensured the stability, progress and long term development of nations. They build not only themselves but a whole community. Yet history has failed women many times to represent what a woman can be. 


International women’s day is celebrated every year with huge enthusiasm around the world to celebrate the achievements of women in social, political, economic and other fields of life. Today, women rule almost in every field of life and work at par with men. We cannot deny that, be it at home or at work, they do it all with so much zeal and ace in each one of it in their own way.


Trendia, this International Women’s day celebrates Women who have Set an example for the society that a woman is more than what the society describe them to be.

Deepika Kumari - Born in Ranchi, Bihar to Shivnarayan Mahato, an auto-rickshaw driver and her mother Geeta, a nurse at Ranchi, Deepika came from a financially disadvantaged family which did not stop her from following her passion. She made her first breakthrough in 2005 by joining  Arjun Academy at Kharsawan and then the list of achievements is endless including some remarkable ones like she won gold medal in the 2010 commonwealth games in women’s individual recurve event. She has won individual gold in two of the three stages of the world cup in Guatemala and Paris. Currently she is ranked the World No.1. 


Nirmala Sitharam - The Current minister of finance and corporate affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman is a true inspiration for the society. Born in Madurai, Tamil Nadu she completed her education from various reputed institutions. Before entering politics, she worked as a salesperson at Habitat, a home decor store in London's Regent Street. She also served as a member of the National Commission for Women. She joined the BJP in 2006, was inducted into Nrendra Modi’s cabinet as a junior minister. Till now she has presented 4 annual budgets of India. India reached the mark of a 3.1 Trillion economy under her leadership.


Saumya Swaminathan - Known for her research on tuberculosis and HIV, Soumya swaminathan yadav is an Indian paediatrician and clinical scientist. Since 2019, Serving as the Chief Scientist at the World Health organisation. She was born in Chennai, India. She is the daughter ‘Father of Green Revolution of india” M.S swaminathan. In 2021, Swaminathan was also appointed to the Pandemic preparedness partnership (PPP).


Kiran Mazumdar Shaw- An Indian Billionaire entrepreneur. She is the executive chairperson and founder of Biocon Limited and Biocon Biologics Limited, a biotechnology company based in Bangalore India and former chairperson of Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. Awarded with Othmer Gold Medal in 2014 for outstanding contributions to the progress of Science and Technology. 


Nita Ambani- Born on 1 November 1963, in a middle class Gujarati family in Mumbai grew to become a professional Bharatanatyam dancer. Nita Mukesh Ambani is an Indian philanthropist. She is the chairperson and founder of the Reliance Foundation, Dhirubhai Ambani International school and a director of Reliance Industries.  She is married to Reliance Industries chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani. With a family fortune estimated in excess of US$102 billion (October 2021), the Ambanis are among the richest in the world. She is also an art collector  and owner of the IPL cricket team Mumbai Indians.

She was listed in 2016 in 'the fifty high and mighty Indians' list by India Today and in the most influential women business leaders in Asia' list by Forbes. She was the first Indian woman to become a member of the International Olympic Committee

Suneeta Reddy - Suneeta Reddy is the Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals, Asia’s foremost and trusted healthcare provider. A member of the founding family, Suneeta Reddy started working with Apollo Hospitals in 1989. Under her stewardship Apollo Hospitals has emerged as a forerunner of integrated healthcare and also has a robust presence across the healthcare spectrum; the Group has touched the lives of more than 200 million individuals from over 140 countries.

Spearheading the finance and strategy functions, Suneeta Reddy was instrumental in bringing the first FDI into healthcare in India and subsequently in taking the organisation to international equity markets through a successful GDR. It has been her deep domain knowledge and foresight that has guided Apollo’s emergence as a formidable, financially sound hospital enterprise. In her extensive career, she has overseen several Greenfield and Brownfield projects.

Roshni Nadar- Roshni Nadar is an Indian businesswoman, the chairwoman of HCL Technologies and the first woman to lead a listed IT company in India. She is the only child of HCL founder and billionaire industrialist Shiv Nadar. In 2019, she is ranked 54th on the Forbes World's 100 Most Powerful Women list. According to IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List (2019), Roshni is the richest woman in India. In 2020, she is ranked 55th on the Forbes World's 100 Most Powerful Women. She is also the CEO of HCL Corporation, the holding company of all HCL Group entities.
